From Humble Beginnings

CSI Manufacturing was founded in 1995 by Matt Kirwan, with a simple but powerful vision: to be his own boss and fill a vital gap in the market. As an electrician by trade, Matt recognised the need for a technically qualified specialist who could source products that traditional buyers might struggle to find for electrical contractors.

That vision came to life with CSI’s very first order — worth just £2.40. It may have been a small beginning, but it marked the start of a journey built on determination, expertise and a relentless focus on service.

Growth, Grit and Milestones

Over the past three decades, CSI Manufacturing has achieved milestones that once seemed unimaginable. Defining moments included gaining UK distribution rights for Rowmark, Epilog and Vision Engraving systems — partnerships that significantly expanded our reach and strengthened our reputation within the laser and engraving industry.

One of our proudest achievements came when we secured an order for 121 Vision engraving machines within the UK — a clear reflection of the trust customers place in our expertise.

Today, we continue to supply advanced CO2 laser engraving systems and manufacturing solutions to businesses across the UK.

Through every stage of growth, one lesson has remained constant: never stand still. In an evolving industry, adaptability has been key to our resilience and long-term success.

People and Culture: The Heart of CSI

Our story is not just about products and partnerships — it is about people. Employees are the heartbeat of CSI Manufacturing. They are the reason customers return time and again, and they are the foundation of everything we have achieved.

Longevity runs deep within our team. Many employees have been with CSI for decades, and we are proud to even have second-generation team members. One vivid memory Matt recalls is a young Carl sitting on his dad’s lap as he drove the forklift on a Saturday. Today, Carl is part of the team himself. That sense of continuity and family spirit is what makes CSI Manufacturing unique.

A Turning Point: Growth Through TRG Investment

In late 2020, CSI Manufacturing was acquired by TRG. The transition became official in early 2021. While our team and core values remained unchanged, what evolved was the scale of our ambition.

Backed by TRG’s investment, we accelerated operational improvements, broadened our capabilities and laid the groundwork for the next phase of expansion.

Our Move to Weston-super-Mare

Investment enabled us to make a step-change in how we serve customers. The move to Weston-super-Mare provided modern facilities, expanded warehousing and improved logistics — allowing us to deliver faster, more efficiently and with even higher quality.

From initial fit-out to first shipments, the relocation was a proud milestone and marked the beginning of a new chapter in CSI Manufacturing’s history.

Building More Than a Business

The official opening of our Weston-super-Mare site symbolises more than growth — it represents commitment to our customers, employees and local community.

Today, CSI Manufacturing continues to deliver professional laser engraving and manufacturing solutions across the UK, combining decades of experience with modern technology and forward-thinking innovation.
